Em\u00edlio Vilar<br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\n<a title=\"REPOSITORIO UL\" href=\"http:\/\/hdl.handle.net\/10451\/18405\" target=\"_blank\">DISSERTA\u00c7\u00c3O [PT]<\/a><br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\n<strong>RESUMO<\/strong><br \/>\nO trabalho desenvolvido no \u00e2mbito do design de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 raras as vezes o resultado de parcerias estreitas entre designers e escritores.No entanto, esta rela\u00e7\u00e3o come\u00e7a a estar presente na edi\u00e7\u00e3o de romances h\u00edbridos. Os romances h\u00edbridos s\u00e3o romances onde ao texto principal se adicionam dispositivos gr\u00e1ficos, numa rela\u00e7\u00e3o complementar para uma nova experi\u00eancia de leitura. Estes romances podem ser: romances h\u00edbridos (originais), romances remediados, romances h\u00edbridos (originais) remediados.<br \/>\nNesta investiga\u00e7\u00e3o abordamos os dispositivos visuais enquanto ferramentas de (re)valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o dos livros impressos e aliciante \u00e0 sua leitura. Aborda-se tamb\u00e9m a forma como, atrav\u00e9s da transforma\u00e7\u00e3o gr\u00e1fica (remedia\u00e7\u00e3o) de um romance convencional, se podem \u201crecuperar\u201d os romances tradicionais (cl\u00e1ssicos ou outros).<br \/>\nUm dos objetivos centrais do estudo descrito nesta disserta\u00e7\u00e3o foi conhecer as v\u00e1rias fun\u00e7\u00f5es que os dispositivos gr\u00e1ficos podem assumir nas p\u00e1ginas dos romances h\u00edbridos; compreender as tipologias existentes, como se apresentam, qual o seu papel na narrativa e como contribuem para que a leitura se torne tamb\u00e9m visual. Atrav\u00e9s da an\u00e1lise ao romance h\u00edbrido de Jonathan Safran Foer, \u201cExtremely Loud &amp; Incredibly Close\u201d, de 2005, demonstramos a utilidade e versatilidade que os dispositivos gr\u00e1ficos podem ter para o design de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e como estes podem \u201cprovocar\u201d visualmente o leitor.<br \/>\nSendo esta uma disserta\u00e7\u00e3o de natureza te\u00f3rico-pr\u00e1tica, foi complementarmente desenvolvido um projeto onde se demonstra, visual e materialmente, a subsidiariedade entre texto e elementos\u00a0visuais. Atrav\u00e9s do redesenho e adi\u00e7\u00e3o de dispositivos gr\u00e1ficos \u00e0 disserta\u00e7\u00e3o (formato acad\u00e9mico) produziu-se um artefacto que reflete hibridamente os conte\u00fados presentes na componente te\u00f3rica.<br \/>\n<strong>Palavras-chave: <\/strong><em>Romances H\u00edbridos, Livros, Design de Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/em><br \/>\n\u2014<br \/>\n<strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><br \/>\nWithin the communication design practice, work is rarely the result of a close partnership between designers and writers. Nonetheless, this relationship somehow happens on the conceptualization and editing of hybrid novels. Hybrid novels are novels where graphics devices are added to the main text in a complementary association to produce a new reading experience. These novels can be: (original) hybrid novels, remediated novels and (original) remediated hybrid novels.\u00a0In this investigation we approach visual devices as tools for the revaluation of printed books and as a means to attract new readers. It also discusses how, through the graphical processing (remediation) of any given conventional novel, one can &#8220;recover&#8221; traditional works (classical and others).<br \/>\nOne of the objectives of the study described in this dissertation was to understand the various characteristics that graphic devices can assume on the pages of hybrid novels; understand the existing typologies, how they present themselves, what are their functions in the narrative, and how they contribute to the visual side of reading.\u00a0By analysing the hybrid novel \u201cExtremely Loud &amp; Incredibly Close (2005), by Jonathan Safran Foer, we demonstrate the usefulness and versatility that graphic and visual devices have for communication design and how they can visually challenge the reader.<br \/>\nSince this is a project based dissertation, a hybrid artefact was developed to show the visual and material complementarity between the main text and graphic devices. By redesigning and adding graphic devices to the dissertation itself (in academic format) we developed a hybrid artefact that \u201cshows\u201d the contents of the theoretical research that supports it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tatiana Alves \/ orient.
